Doting dad: Robbie Williams looked proud as punch as he posted this adorable snap of baby daughter Teddy on his official blog

The Angels hitmaker looks every inch the doting dad, with little 'Teddy' curled up wearing just a nappy on his bare tattooed chest while he smiles into the camera.

Robbie took to his blog to announce the birth of his baby daughter on Tuesday night.

Revealing the happy news, Robbie wrote: 'Praise be, it's Theodora Rose Williams, affectionately known as Teddy..... Born 3.33pm on 18.9.12, 7Ibs 4oz...

'Baby, Mummy and Daddy are all rockin.... Thank you for your best wishes XXXX.'

Following the birth of baby Teddy, Robbie's Take That bandmate Gary Barlow was quick to lead the congratulations, writing on his Twitter page: 'Massive congrats Rob and Ayda. So happy for you.'

Other stars to take to Twitter to congratulate Robbie and Ayda on the birth of their daughter included Boyzone singer Ronan Keating, who wrote: 'Congrats to Robbie Williams and Ayda.'

And former Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles wrote on his Twitter page: 'Congratulations Robbie & Ayda!'

Singer and actor Jonathan Wilkes, who is a long-standing friend of Williams, said: 'Right bed time !!! Got a big day Tommrow I'm meeting a new little lady !! X'

Robbie recently expressed concern he could miss his baby's birth due to his concert schedule.

He told radio DJ Chris Evans before the birth: 'I've had a bit of a falling out with the wife. So I've got gigs this week, the baby could come at any minute, the wife has said, "If I go into labour and you've got a gig in say Leeds or Dublin, you've got to cancel it and come home." '

Rebellious: Robbie admitted in a recent interview that much of the disciplining of his baby daughter will fall on his wife

Robbie also revealed the couple had chosen a name for their daughter and was pleased it was a traditional moniker.

He said: 'Right now I'm ecstatic. We do have a name but we're not going to get it out in case it gets tweeted.

'And as a celebrity we're supposed to call them Aubergine or something like that aren't we? I do have a sort of celebrity name but it's not Apple-esque. It's a very solid, old-school name.'

Just before Teddy was born, the Take That star admitted as long as his little girl grew up to be kind and courteous, he would be happy.

He said in an interview with Capital Radio: 'I can't help thinking ... her mum's a comedian and actress and her dad is me.'

'I just want a really quirky, kind kid. As long as she's kind and has got good manners then we're cool.'

However, don't expect the singer to be a very strict dad. Given his own rebellious childhood, he's expecting much of the disciplining will fall on wife Ayda's shoulders.

'It's going to be really difficult for her to get in trouble though with me. My cousin, who I used to get in trouble with when I was about 12 or 13, his kids are now that age and he gives them a right rollicking.'
