Her Royal High Hem: Pippa's front row fashion faux pas as she tussles with short skirt at Temperley London Fashion Week

Style queen: Pippa Middleton sits in the front row at the Temperley show, the first time she has attended a show since the Royal Wedding

Standing up, Pippa Middleton's outfit looked a perfectly reasonable length.

So when the Duchess of Cambridge's sister took her seat at the Temperley show, she probably didn't anticipate she would be spending most of her time ensuring she didn't reveal too much.

Pippa tried to look relaxed as photographers circled, but her clasped hands holding tightly onto the hemline of her short skirt gave a hint that she was not totally at ease.

Happy: Pippa, right, and actress Rosario Dawson, left, are all smiles as they wait for the show to begin

She was joined by Peaches Geldof and Rosario Dawson in a star-studded front row.

Pippa's arrival caused a flurry of flashbulbs as the assembled crowd craned their necks for a glimpse of the Duchess of Cambridge's sister.

Wearing a cream and black mini dress she had collected from the Temperley store earlier that day, Pippa was groomed to perfection with glossy curls and immaculate make up (in the same kohl-rimmed style favoured by sister Kate).

Joining Pippa in the front row was actress Rosario Dawson in red lace Temperley, last spotted partying at the Roberto Cavalli store launch on Saturday night.

Newly slender Peaches Geldof completed the stellar line-up, wearing a red slip dress with beaded headdress and red platform shoes.

A fashion week regular, Peaches has been seen front row at a number of shows this week after jetting back from the U.S. where she had attended New York's fashion week.

Pippa used to be a regular at fashion week before she was thrust into the public eye, but this is her first high-profile show since the Royal Wedding.

Rumours had swirled that she might appear at the Issa show last Saturday - both Middleton sisters are ardent fans of the brand - but she did not show up.

Pippa has become close to the label's founder Alice Temperley since having a Temperley gown customised in emerald green to wear at the evening reception of Kate and William's wedding.

Kate is also fond of the label - choosing a Temperley dress to wear to Wimbledon in June which then promptly sold out - but she was not able to attend the show.

Tight squeeze: Pippa has to squash into her seat next to some fellow fashionistas but looks happy regardless

THE TEMPERLEY COLLECTION

The collection that the stars and the stylish enjoyed was at times ethereal, at times dramatic. Heavy on the intricate beading and lace that have become Temperley's trademark, the palette was subtle - ivories, putty - or graphic and monochromatic.

Dramatic: Black lace is made into sumptuous eveningwear and sophisticated separates

Temperley's trademark style: Intricate beading, bridal-inspired chic and elegant shapes
