Jodie's transformation into a bodybuilder has been documented for DMAX show Jodie Marsh: Bodybuilder, due to premiere in January 2012, but the Essex-born star insists she would have gone down the bodybuilding route with or without the TV cameras.

She said: 'The whole thing was for a television show but I wanted to do this anyway.

My trainer Tim Sharp approached me 3 years ago and said that he could get me fit.

'All along he said to me that I should do a competition. He's been competing for 20 years and he said I would love the buzz.
