Fountain of middle youth: Loose Women's Carol McGiffin has revealed the secret to her new fresh-faced look
She's never usually one to hold back when it comes to divulging information.
But it seems Loose Women panelist Carol McGiffin has managed to keep one secret under her belt- at least until now.
The 51-year-old has finally revealed the answer to her mysteriously youthful visage- which has become visibly smoother over the last few months.
What a difference a few months makes: Carol McGiffin had noticeably more wrinkles in July (right) by comparison to her far smoother appearance on the panel of ITV's Loose Women yesterday (left)
In response to comments on the noticeable reduction in her facial wrinkles, the notoriously candid star addressed the issue in her Closer magazine column.
'There's been more speculation about my face and whether or not I've had work done,' Carol wrote.
'Well, I'll let you into a little secret. Over the past few months I've had a few new treatments. The first one is CACI, also known as the non-surgical facelift.'
'It gives my face muscles a workout and reduces wrinkles. I love it!'
'I've also been having facials and using skincare products by Murad. I've kept quiet to see if people would notice and they have, so it must be working!'
Carol is engaged to 29-year-old Mark Cassidy, who works in TV production.
The presenter insists that despite the 22 year age gap, it was Mark who dissuaded her from having a full surgical face lift in Los Angeles- which she had seriously considered as an option before they met.
'My plan was to hop over there, get nipped and tucked, come back looking ‘fresh’ and tell no one. But it never happens like that, does it?' Carol wrote in the Daily Mail.
'There would be a big debate in the media, and if I lied and got found out I’d end up on the ducking stool (like Fern Britton with her gastric band),' she continued.
'Mark told me he’d be horrified if I came back from anywhere looking like a burglar with anylon stocking over my head,' said Carol.
Murad anti-aging products, which include creams and serums to be applied at night, range in price from £85-£110 for a 60 day supply.
A CACI (Computer Aided Cosmetology Instrument) non surgical face lift is an electronic beauty treatment using a CACI machine.
CACI face lift treatments lift the face by toning facial muscles, 'smoothing away fine lines and wrinkles and preventing sagging skin.'
A typical program consists of a course of weekly treatments- focusing on the eyes and an overall 'facelift' effect, followed by a monthly maintenance session.
A course of 10 'face lift' treatments costs in the region of £750.
Youthful: Carol credits the non -surgical treatment CACI, which is an electronic beauty treatment that tones facial muscles, and products by Murad for her revitalised look
