Sam and Billie Faiers venture to the supermarket as they get their lives back on track following girl gang attack

Getting on with their lives: Sam and Billie Faiers were spotted in the supermarket in Brentwood, Essex, this afternoon

Sam and Billie Faiers have vowed to get justice following the horrific girl gang attack they were seriously injured in.

The sisters, from hit TV show The Only Way Is Essex, visited the police station yesterday to discuss proceeding with the investigation, and have now promised to see the 'animals' who targeted them caught.

Sam and Billie made the promise as they attempted to get on with their lives with a trip to the supermarket this morning.

Smiling through the pain: Both girls managed smiles on their shopping trip

While they kept their faces hidden behind large sunglasses, the girls appeared in relatively good spirits as they popped to Sainsbury's in Brentwood, Essex.

And despite Billie looking glamorous in a bronze top and black trousers, Sam looked uncharacteristically casual in a vest top, jeans and flat boots.

While the pair kept their heads down in the store, they looked happier as they unloaded the shopping back at the home they share with their parents.

Catching up on gossip: The girls looked very interested in one of the celebrity magazines they had picked up in the supermarket

Stocking up: The girls perused the crisps aisle in the Brentwood store

Billie and Sam vowed this morning that they would catch the people who attacked them.

Billie told The Sun: 'We want these animals caught and punished for what they've done to us.'

After the vicious attack, which took place last weekend, Sam was rushed to hospital for a brain scan after she was lured to an estate near Chigwell, Essex on false pretenses and beaten unconscious.

The incident happened shortly after her older sister Billie, 21, was robbed and attacked by the same gang in a London nightclub. She suffered bruising and a split lip.

Investigation: The girls, seen here at Ilford Police Station yesterday, were both seriously injured in the attack

Moving on: The girls, seen here on last night's TOWIE, are now trying to move on with their lives

A spokesperson for Sam added: 'The girls attended Ilford Police station so officers could record their injuries.

'We are determined those responsible are caught and prosecuted. This was an appalling and unprovoked attack. We are co-operating fully with the police.'

And police also confirmed they will be 'taking steps' to assess what happened.

A Metropolitan Police spokesperson said: 'Officers are taking steps to establish the full circumstances of what happened.'

Sam and Billie are both attempting to move on following the traumatic attack.

Support: The girls' friends, including Lucy Mecklenburgh and Joey Essex, were seen taking gifts around to the Faiers house

They were seen on last night's show being comforted by friends and family, with Sam's new boyfriend Mark Wright attempting to comfort her as they enjoyed an evening in together.

The girls have both been taking to their Twitter pages to thank fans for their support following the attack.

Sam wrote yesterday: 'Thank u for all ur amazing messages :-) u all make me happy x'
While Billie added previously: 'Thank you to all my lovely friends coming round to see us today, I love you all.'

Speaking earlier this week about the attack, Sam had said she feared for her life when she was set upon by the girl gang.

She said: 'I've been told one girl started screaming. She thought they had killed me because I wasn't moving.

'If a kick had landed any differently I could be dead.'
