Taking it a step too far: Jodie Marsh's new muscular physique leaves her with misshapen, rippled breast implants

Misshapen: Jodie Marsh unwittingly displayed her rippled breast implants as she attended The Global Angel Awards at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel

She's worked extraordinarily hard to make a name for herself as a bodybuilder, entirely transforming her figure in a matter of months.

But it seems Jodie Marsh's intense diet and exercise regime has had one undesired effect on her body - leaving her with rippled breasts as the muscles interfered with her breast implants.

Jodie displayed her uneven breasts in a plunging black and gold jumpsuit as she attended The Global Angel Awards at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge Hotel.

The rippling effect is not unheard of in female bodybuilders who have started training after having implants.

Boston plastic surgeon Dr Rick Silverman explains: 'One of the down-sides of bodybuilding, in fact, is the gradual loss of breast tissue with increased lean body mass and decreased body fat.

'In general, I recommend placement of implants under the pectoralis muscle, since the appearance of the implant is better, especially in patients with very low body fat.

'In those patients, the implants tend to be very obvious when placed over the muscle, including features such as rippling.'

Jodie's implants would most probably have been place over the muscle, given that she had the procedure back in 2008.

And the 32-year-old model admitted recently she wants to have smaller implants now that her body has so drastically changed.

She explained: 'My breasts used to look big yet natural – but since training I've become so lean they now really stick out.

'At the championships, my boobs counted against me. They hung down so low I had to hold them up so the judges could see my abs properly. My next job is definitely to get smaller implants fitted.'

Jodie underwent a drastic new regime in a bid to get ready for the Natural Physique Association (NPA) Mike Williams Classic and Pro-Am Bodybuilding Championships in September.

She said at the time: 'In just 50 days I have gone from 25 per cent body fat to 10 per cent body fat, gained 8 pounds of muscle, and lost 20 pounds of fat. In 8 weeks I have achieved what normally takes 6 to 9 months.'

Songbirds: Leona Lewis and Natasha Bedingfield both took to the stage to perform for guests at the awards

Famous faces: Joss Stone, former Apprentice winner Michelle Dewberry and socialite Hofit Golan, with a broken foot, also made an appearance

Despite her rippled breasts, Jodie looked otherwise relatively chic at the awards ceremony in her jumpsuit, which she teamed with poker straight brown hair.

Other stars to make an appearance at the event included Natasha Bedingfield and brother Daniel, as well as former X Factor winner Leona Lewis, who looked sleek in her pink bustier, black trousers and cardigan.

Soul singer Joss Stone also posed for photographers at the awards in a paisley-print brown dress with matching sandals.

Flashing the flesh: Former WAG Lizzie Cundy's backless minidress left little to the imagination

After the event, Leona took to her Twitter page to write: 'Lovely seeing these beauties @jossstone and @natashabdnfield, honour to share the stage with these talented ladies!'

The Global Angel Awards are held annually to honour those businesses and individuals who are leading the way in both philanthropy and charity.

Guests at the star-studded event were treated to music from Natasha, Leona and Daniel, as well as a delicious three course meal consisting of oven roasted tomato tart, roasted rump of lamb and warm guanaja chocolate cake.
