Flying the flag: Katherine Jenkins outshined the Hollywood crowd at Mixology 101 last night in a simple playsuit from Topshop

Ever since she stepped for Dancing with the Stars, Welsh beauty Katherine Jenkins has been flying the flag for Britain quite admirably.

The 31-year-old has executed herself well, she looks fantastic, and has the old-fashioned etiquette to please her new American friends.

And last night, she even upstaged the trendy Hollywood crowd in a $96 playsuit from British high street favourite, Topshop.


The blonde has top designers clamouring to dress her and could easily wear a different thousand dollars plus dress a night.

But in keeping with her down-to-earth, and loyal nature she opted for this relatively inexpensive number.

And of course, supported the British high street while doing so.

Topshop is making inroads into America, just like Katherine, with stores in New York, Chicago, Las Vegas and next year, Los Angeles.

They won't be keen to see the back of her: Katherine is proving to be a popular export for Britain

But if you want to get your hands on this full-skirted playsuit on either side of the Atlantic, it's available at Topshop.com for $96/£48.

The outfit certainly slayed the competition on Katherine, who teamed the item with an unfussy pair of high black pumps.

It certainly seemed to make an impression on her dance partner Mark Ballas, too, as he seemed to enjoy getting close to the beauty for a picture.

The opera singer pulled some sultry moves as she took to the dance floor alongside partner Ballas to show off her jive in a shimmering black and pink frock.

The pair had wowed the judges and the audience in last week’s premiere episode but Katherine didn’t grow complacent tonight and landed another score of 26 out of 30.

Carrie Ann Inaba and Bruno Tonioli both awarded the blonde nine points apiece.

However Len Goodman gave the star eight after claiming the seductive dance was not entirely his ‘cup of tea’.

He said ‘I loved the start, the whole end section – the middle section wasn’t really my cup of tea. It was wild and wacky.’

But Bruno felt differently and told the star: ‘The blonde bombshell is unleashed. I know sexy when I see it and you’ve got it.’
