'Some people can't let go of the past': Brian McFadden hits back at ex-wife Kerry Katona's Twitter rant as he labels first marriage 'shambolic'

By Emily Sheridan

His ex-wife Kerry Katona was understandably angry when Brian McFadden dismissed their former marriage.

The former Westlife singer, 32, had claimed he had 'no idea what I was doing' when he married first wife Kerry - mother of his two children - in January 2002.

When Kerry, 32, posted a upset Twitter rant about how proud she was of their children, Brian declined to apologise, dismissing their five year relationship as 'shambolic'.

He wrote on his Twitter page: 'Some people just can't let go of the past. Even if it destroys the future.

'I love my kids but there the best thing in my life that came from that shambolic relationship.

'Now please f**k off and let me and my wife enjoy our life. With my two girls... And to everyone else. Mind your own business.

'I'm sick of every time in my life I'm happy some pr**k tries to destroy me.'

The row started after the Australia's Got Talent judge said he considered his
September 2 wedding to Irish model and DJ Vogue Williams, 26, his 'first' marriage.

During the exclusive wedding coverage of their nuptials in Italy with Hello! magazine, he said: 'This is me getting married for the rest of my life - and a completely different life.

'I was 18 or 19 when I got married the first time. I was in Westlife. I had no idea what I was doing. It wasn't till I was 30 that I turned into an adult.'

After reading his interview, former Atomic Kitten singer Kerry wrote a lengthy Twitter statement on Tuesday hitting out at her ex.

She wrote: 'I will never let anyone take away my first marriage not even my ex husband! We may have been young but I knew full well what I was doing!!! And never in a million years would I ever dismiss it, especially bringing two amazing children into it... Love mummy xxx.

'Just want my children to know there were made with love and no regrets #eyeswideopen.'

The Celebrity Big Brother star, who is divorced from second husband, cabbie Mark Croft, added: 'Just want to say a big thank you to all the people who have walked in and OUT of my life You've all made me the person I am today.... Stronger, wiser and one hell of a great mum!! Thanks xxxx.'

After meeting on a roadshow tour in 1999, Kerry quit Atomic Kitten when she found out when was pregnant with their oldest daughter Molly, now 11, who was born in August 2001.

Brian was actually 22 and Kerry was 21 when they tied the knot in front of celebrity guests in a lavish ceremony in Ireland five months later.

The reality TV star went on to have their youngest daughter Lilly Sue, now nine, before they separated in September 2004.

It was later revealed that Brian had cheated on Kerry with a lapdancer on his stag night.

Brian and Vogue wed in medieval castle Castello di Vincigliata in Tuscany on September 2 following a whirlwind 16 month romance.

Among the guests were Brian's fellow Australia's Got Talent judge Dannii Minogue, who told Hello!: 'They make a beautiful couple and I wasn't surprised at all when they got engaged.'

The groom praised his young bride for 'taming' him, something his ex-fiancée Delta Goodrem and Kerry apparently failed to do.

He said: 'Vogue has made me so happy. She puts a smile on my face every day. She has made me a better person.'
