Charlie was a popular, likeable contestant on the show - a complete contrast to her troubled EastEnders character Janine Butcher.
Speaking to hosts Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly after winning, she said: '(It feels) silly. I never imagined this for a million years.
'Everyone's been amazing. David was our king down there. Eric with the fire. Everyone down there played their role.'
Former Pussycat Doll Ashley was a gracious runner-up, admitting she was stunned she had got so far in the competition.
She said: 'I have gotten beyond what I ever expected. I'm so proud of myself.'
Ahead of finding out she had won, Charlie watched a VT of her highlights and admitted she hoped she had done Helen Flanagan a favour when she confronted her over the poor performance in the Bushtucker Trials in the beginning of the series.
She explained: 'Everybody babied Helen and it did her a favour when everyone toughened up. I didn't want her to walk away without accomplishing any of her fears... and I was hungry.'
A few minutes earlier - before finding out her fate - a delighted Charlie had been reunited with her seven-year-old daughter Kiki.
The soap star was crowned the queen of the jungle after facing off with the Pussycat Doll during their last bushtucker trial.
The pair had to eat a three course meal involving various jungle 'treats' and a bizarre drinks.
Both stars retched and gagged during the disgusting trial and repeatedly fought the urge to be sick.
Following the trial, Ashley said: 'That was the most disgusting thing I've ever done in my life.
'That (raw fish) eyeball and the popping of the eyeball. It smelled. I am never doing anything like that again in my entire life.'
Charlie was clearly distressed throughout the trial: 'I feel absolutely traumatised. It was horrendous. There was no other way of describing it.'
They managed to eat all courses and were rewarded with a three-course Mexican feast for their last night in the jungle.
Ahead of the trial, Charlie warned Ashley it was going to be horrible: 'This is the worst one of all... I gag really easily.'
