By Lucy Buckland

Firefighters had to rescue former Liberty X pop star Michelle Heaton's baby daughter who was trapped in her locked car.

Michelle, 32, who rose to fame on TV show Popstars, said she went through 'the worst hour of my life' as she waited anxiously for the rescuers to force their way into her soft-top white BMW 1 Series at Bushey, Herts.

Her six-month-old daughter, Faith, became trapped in the car outside her home after it automatically locked with the keys on the seat.

Rescued: Michelle Heaton said it was a 'nightmare' after ger daughter Faith was trapped in a locked car - but the gorgeous baby was happy with her present from the fire crews

While firefighters worked, panicked Michelle tweeted 'Just has the worst hour of my life.. I locked Faith , my keys & my phone in the car.. Somehow the car locked when I shut the door...'

She also tweeted her thanks to the firefighters who were called by a neighbour, saying 'I can't thank Hertfordshire fire brigade enough. Me & Faith owe you.£britishfiremenrule'

Crew commander Doug Sheppard, from Garston fire station who rescued young Faith on July 11, said 'The mother was clearly very concerned and distressed, however we managed to successfully unlock the car without damaging it and the baby was fine.'

Telling the story:Michelle took to Twitter to thank the firemen

She found fame after appearing on ITV talent show Popstars in 2001 and made it to the final 10 candidates for Hear'Say before missing out.

After failing to make the final cut she joined Liberty X with other rejected singers and enjoyed chart success with 'Just a Little' which reached number one in 2002.

The band broke up in 2005, following which she pursued a solo career and made numerous television appearances.

She divorced fellow pop star Andy Scott-Lee in 2008, she married businessman Hugh Hanley in July 2010 and gave birth to Faith in January 2011.

Little flirt: Michelle said her daughter was a good girl and didn't cry too much

She told recently how, during her pregnancy with daughter Faith, she struggled to deal with 'losing control of my body'.

She piled on three stone while expecting but after three months of a tough work-out regime and dieting, she got back to her exact pre-baby weight of 8st 6lbs and showed off her toned and taut stomach on her Twitter page.

She and her Irish husband Hugh are both qualified personal trainers so fitness is a huge part of their life.

However, the Celebrity Big Brother star had to wait two months before she could start working out because of Faith's arrival in January via emergency caesarean section and her heart condition.
