That's not really amusing: Abbey Crouch left dangling 30ft in the air after trip to amusement park goes wrong

It's many people's worst nightmare.

So it's no wonder that Abbey Crouch was beside herself as she got stuck on a ride at Alton Towers over the weekend.

The model was left suspended 30ft in the air as a fault occurred while she was riding the Sonic Spinball - a sit down ride which spins and drops in various directions.

And Abbey's husband Peter was forced to watch helpless during his wife's ordeal, as his 6ft 7in height had meant he was banned from the ride due to their 1.95m height limit.

A source told the Daily Star: 'Abbey was really keen to try out the Sonic Spinball so she left Peter holding their daughter Sophia while she went for a spin.'

'But halfway through there was a mechanical fault and she ended up stuck.'

The source added that Abbey could be heard crying out for her husband shouting: ‘Petey! Petey!'

However, the paper claim that the sound of Abbey's screaming left the Stoke player feeling 'embarrassed' rather than concerned for his wife's wellbeing.

A spokesperson for Alton Towers put the ride's error down to a mechanical glitch, explaining: 'We did have a minor technical glitch on Sonic Spinball.'

The spokesperson continued: 'The safety of our guests is paramount so our well-rehearsed procedures were implemented to ensure guests were able to leave the ride as quickly as possible.'

Last week, Abbey and Peter were spotted heading out for dinner near their home in Cheshire.

The couple both wore fitted outfits which showed off their thin frames as they arrived at The Grill On The Edge in Alderley Edge.

Located a short drive from their £4.5million Prestbury mansion, the pair left daughter Sophia at home in the care of a babysitter for their date night.

The Liverpudlian model looked super skinny in pair of black leggings and a peplum-detailed top with sheer side panels.

She teamed the all-black ensemble with a £1,160 pair of Givenchy taupe embellished wolffish sandals with metal shark tooth details and a five-inch stiletto.
