When Nicki Minaj invited Cassie Ventura to join her in her new video she probably thought it would be fun working with hr friend.

What she might not have expected is that the sultry R & B singer would steal the show in her high cut white swimsuit.

Still, it certainly looked as if the girls were having fun as they filmed the video for The Boys.

The bold 29-year-old delivers a nonsensical, candy-coated daydream of a video where the pair ask in the chorus 'why the boys are always spending all their money on love?'

The Boys is Nicki's first single from Pink Friday Roman Reloaded: The Re-Up, the re-release of her sophomore album due in stores in November 19.

The frivolous clip, directed by Colin Tilley, is set in a technicolor, cartoon-style street, barbershop, and polka-dot dream world where the two ladies gratuitously flaunt their enviable curves.

In fact, the 26-year-old songstress nearly steals the video from Minaj when she appears onscreen in a sexy white one-piece bathing suit with a thong back.

Not to be outdone by Cassie, Nicki makes sure to show off her famous curvaceous form in a tiny string bikini as she poses next to a bizarre 'T-rex' motorized tricycle.

The video opens with a newspaper headline 'Barber shop burns down after "freak" flame thrower accident.'

During two set-ups, the former model even dyed her mohawk-shaved black tresses neon yellow to better blend in with Nicki's candy-coloured world.

The petite rapper will embark on her 'Apart of Roman Released European Tour' starting October 21 in Nottingham's Capital FM Arena and ending December 8 at Perth Arena in Australia.

The 24-year-old, whose directed 19 videos for Chris Brown, has also worked with Justin Bieber, Justin Timberlake, 50 Cent, Lil Wayne, Diddy, Usher, and Wiz Khalifa.

But Nicki Minaj has taken her love of turning heads one step further in a new shoot for the Power Issue of American Vogue magazine.

The rapper can be seen painted a striking shade of blue in an image shot by photographer Steven Klein.

The sapphire shade presents a stark contrast to Nicki’s bubble gum pink curls and matching slick of lipstick.

The 29-year-old also wears a dramatic scarlet dress and matching opera gloves to complete her unusual look for the fashion magazine shoot.

And in an interview to accompany the creative photograph, the star opened up about how her style wasn’t always so distinctive.

She told the publication: ‘I was dressing in Tommy Hilfiger baggy shirts and Boss jeans, but then I met a person who dressed like a tiny lady—pantsuits, heels, lots of makeup.

‘I thought she was larger than life. She once did my makeup – I had never seen myself made up before. I didn’t want to wash it off; I felt like I had one day to live this fantasy of being a glamour girl.’

She also added that her eye-catching ensembles are ‘costumes, not outfits.’

And as well as telling the fashion magazine about her style discovery, the Super Bass rapper admitted that she didn’t always see herself ending up in the music industry.

She confessed: ‘A huge part of me wanted to be a lawyer. I would do a really good job as a prosecutor.’

Nicki has lent her name to MAC's ultra-altruistic Viva Glam range, for which all profits from make-up sold go to HIV and AIDS charities.

The star has designed a vibrant pink lipstick for the line, and has spoken out about her delight to be involved in the project.

She has said: ‘When I was chosen by MAC cosmetics to be the next Viva Glam spokesperson, I wanted to hug everyone that worked at MAC for giving me this opportunity.

'I've always wanted to be a Viva Glam girl.'

The look is completed with a lemon-coloured fitted blazer.

So when it came to coming up with a concept for her new video, Nicki Minaj decided to take inspiration from another mainstream favourite - the Bratz fashion dolls.

Nicki is seen with dramatic almond-shaped eyes, very similar to the ones sported by the children's favourite toys in the video for her new single Stupid Hoe.

The video for Nicki's new song comes after it was revealed that her album, the follow-up to her debut record Pink Friday, has been delayed in its release.

Thankfully the eight-legged friend was merely just a toy figurine, and oddly the singing sensation was carrying it around.

Bieber teamed his ghoulish accessory with an aptly themed T-shirt, adorned with white skulls.

An undercover NYPD cop was allegedly taken out by one of Justin Bieber's own bodyguards.

Bieber was reportedly shaken up by the incident, which saw the bodyguard issued a summons for disorderly conduct.

Initial reports from the scene had suggested that a man had jumped the barricades, attacking Bieber and knocking him to the ground - but police have since denied that he was touched or hurt.

‘It was a momentary well-intentioned misunderstanding and the event went well,’ a spokesman for Bieber told the New York Post. ‘He’s completely fine and has no injuries.’

A witness said the Canadian singer shouted: 'What? What?' as the incident happened, before rushing back into the store and not talking to waiting reporters.
