Apprentice finalists Stella English and Chris Bates prepare for battle in the boardroom

By Daily Mail Reporter

Battle of the blondes: Chris Bates and Stella English will fight it out for the £100,000-a-year job for Lord Alan Sugar on The Apprentice final

After a triple firing on Wednesday, Stella English and Chris Bates have made it to this year's final of The Apprentice.

Both coming from the banking world, Londoner Stella, 30, will battle 23-year-old Bates for the chance of a £100,000-a-year job working for Lord Alan Sugar.

And to help them along the way, the pair will be reunited with some of their former boardroom rivals.

On Sunday's final, the pair are given the task of launching and presenting a premium alcohol drink, which they will try and sell to 100 industry experts.

Fans of the show are unsure who exactly Lord Sugar will chose - although only having nine month career experience behind him, Bates comes across as more personable than English.

However his rival has been on the winning team seven times and proved herself steady and capable - but has been accused of being 'too corporate'.

On Stella's team will be Paloma Vivanco, Melissa Cohen, Christopher Farrell and semi-finallist Joanna Riley.

Team Chris: (L-R) Liz Locke, Alex Epstein, Jamie Lester and Dr Shibby Robati

While on Chris's side will be Liz Locke, Alex Epstein, Dr Shibby Robati and semi-finalist Jamie Lester.

One noticeable absentee from the final is Stuart Baggs, who was fired in Wednesday's episode after he was caught lying in his CV.

Baggs was given the boot along with fellow candidates Joanna Riley and Jamie Lester in a triple firing after his 'telecommunication firm' in the Isle Of Man was actually revealed to be an ISP provider.

An angry Lord Sugar told him in the boardroom 'my advisers tell me you are full of s**t' after his description of himself as 'Stuart Baggs - The Brand' was dismissed by trouble-shooter Claude Littner.

Writing on his Twitter page on Friday, Lord Sugar wrote: 'Big build up to the final on Sunday. I have to decide the winner in final on Sunday.

'Very hard decision both very credible candidates.'

Caught in the middle: Stella looks torn between feisty Joanna and Paloma

Despite his four-letter rant at Baggs in the semi-final, Lord Sugar insisted he did like the 21-year-old.

He said: 'Stuart Baggs getting too much flack, he entertained us, he's very young and will learn. He will do well one day. He is actually a nice boy.'

The Apprentice final will be screened on Sunday 19 December at 9pm on BBC1.

It's all smiles now... Chris and Stella look friendly enough
