Owen Wilson 'does the hula dance' as he celebrates birth of baby son Ford Lynton

By Daily Mail Reporter

Hollywood star Owen Wilson has become a father for the first time with the birth of a baby boy.

The Little Fockers star's girlfriend of a year, Jade Duell, gave birth to their first child in Hawaii with the star at her side.

They have named the child Ford Lunton Wilson.

Wilson's spokesperson confirmed the birth and said: 'Everyone is doing well.'

News that the actor was going to become a father was kept quiet until less than a week ago - almost unheard of in celebrity circles.

According to U.S. reports, the baby boy was delivered via water birth at Owen's $8million oceanfront home in Maui with the help of a midwife. He reportedly weighed in at 6lbs, 13oz.

'Owen and Jade are thrilled!' an insider told Star magazine.

'Owen has been doing a celebratory hula dance all afternoon! It's a beautiful boy and everyone is incredibly happy!'

The 42-year-old star and Jade, 28, who works as a federal air marshal, have been dating for over a year after meeting on a flight from Los Angeles to Washington D.C.

Wilson's previous girlfriends include actress Kate Hudson.

With the end of their relationship four years ago he made a failed suicide bid.

Following Wilson's health troubles, the couple reconciled, but the relationship only lasted a few months.

New caring role: Wilson, seen in his new film Little Fockers, is looking forward to the new responsibilities of fatherhood

Days after Wilson announced his impending fatherhood last week, Hudson revealed that she too was expecting.

The 31-year-old mother-of-one is 15-weeks pregnant with rocker boyfriend Matt Bellamy's child.

While the two have only been dating for two months, they are said to be 'delighted' at the new baby.

The announcement came as a glut of celebrity pregnancies were publicised, including Victoria Beckham, Alicia Silverstone, Selma Blair, Pink, Emma Bunton, Natalie Portman, Christina Applegate, Penny Lancaster, Amanda Holden, Devon Aoki, Rachel Zoe, Jewel, Marion Cotillard and Jane Krakowski.
