And the best dressed bump goes to: Pregnant Natalie Portman swans into Oscars lunch in elegant dress

Chic: Natalie Portman showed off her baby bump at the 83rd Academy Awards Nominations luncheon in Beverly Hills today


Black Swan star Natalie Portman lead the Oscar-nominees today at the traditional award luncheon in their honour.

The pregnant actress arrived at the 83rd Academy Awards Nominations lunch at the Beverly Hills hotel in California looking elegant in a blue mini dress.

She accentuated her baby bump with a satin sash and looked daytime chic for this more casual of award season events.

Portman has been nominated in the Best Actress category for her moving and spirited performance in ballet-themed movie Black Swan.

Best Supporting Actress nominee Amy Adams looked demure and beautiful in a cream dress with a ruffled bodice.

The Fighter actress wore gold heels which added the perfect amount of glamour for the occasion.

Co-star and fellow Best Supporting Actress nominee Melissa Leo stood out in her tailored trouser suit - deciding against a dress for the event.

The white pant suit was paired with a turquoise and black blouse but the ensemble looked more 70s costume than fashion forward.

Youngest nominee and True Grit star Hailee Steinfeld, 14, looked grown up in a little black dress and black patent Mary Jane shoes.

Her side swept wavy ponytail added an air of youthfulness to her look.

Her co-star Jeff Bridges looked dapper in a blue suit and brought his wife Susan Bridges along on the date.

Australian actress Nicole Kidman showed that sleepless nights and diaper changes for baby Faith Margaret were not affecting her at all by looking fresh faced at the event.

Her short-sleeved orange print dress is a departure from her usual style but suited blended well with her auburn hair.

Nicole is not new to this event as she won the Academy Award in 2002 for her role as Virginia Woolfe in The Hours.

She was honoured at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival at the weekend where she told of her tears at being nominated a second time.

The mother-of-four said she had to explain to her two-year-old daughter Sunday Rose that there were tears of joy.

Kidman, who plays a grieving mother for her nominated role in Rabbit Hole, said on hearing of her award nod: 'What an extraordinary journey this film has taken me on!

The X-Men: First Class star is set to team up with fellow nominee Jeff Bridges for the movie The Seventh Son.

The Fighter has seven, 127 Hours has six and psycho-sexual nail-biter Black Swan and Toy Story 3 have five nominations each. Crime thriller Winter's Bone has four.
