I'll hold her! Pink gets the better end of the deal by carrying baby Willow while husband Carey Hart struggles with a load of beach gear

Raw end of the deal: Pop star Pink snuggled up to her baby daughter Willow while husband Carey Hart got stuck lugging all the beach gear while out in Malibu yesterday


Pink definitely got the better end of the deal while heading for a family day at the beach yesterday.

While the new mother got to snuggle close and carry her six-week-old baby daughter Willow, father Carey Hart had the unenviable task of lugging all the gear to the Malibu seaside.

The new parents strolled along in the California sunshine for their afternoon outing.

Pink wore a white flowing skirt with a chequered jacket and carried a bag of goodies and baby necessities.

But Carey was laden down with a surf board, wetsuit, deckchairs, tent and another bag and did it all while barefoot.

They later pitched a tent on the white sand and enjoyed a leisurely day and Pink stripped down to a black top to help touch up her tan.

There was a bottle of Chimay Belgian dark ale by their side as they seemed to enjoy a drink while sitting out.

Carey showed off his many tattoos while changing into his wet suit and had a multi-coloured striped towel wrapped around him.

The singer announced the birth of her daughter on Twitter, calling Willow Sage a 'beautiful, healthy, happy baby girl' who is 'gorgeous, just like her daddy'.

She is the first child for the Pink and the motorcross-riding star, who wed in Costa Rica in 2006 after five years of dating.

The Funhouse singer recently told People magazine the reasoning behind her daughter's beautiful name.

'The willow is my favourite tree. I grew up near one. It’s the most flexible tree in nature and nothing can break it — no wind, no elements, it can bend and withstand anything. I love that sentiment. I want that for her.

She added: 'Sage is cleansing and sacred. And it sounded great together. It doesn’t hurt that her last name is Hart — flexible cleansed heart.'

Pink, real name Alecia Moore, had wanted to have a natural birth, but events didn't go quite to plan, she explained: 'She was in the frank breech position, which is head up with her legs up by her head in a pike position. We tried everything to turn her around.

'Turns out this little girl had other plans — she is my daughter, after all.'

And motherhood is certainly agreeing with the once rebellious rock star, who was close to divorcing Hart just two years ago before counselling saved their marriage.

'My life was once whiskey, tears and cigarettes,' the singer tweeted on June 14. 'Now it's snot, tears and the colour of poop.

'Ever the rebel, the new mom quickly added, 'I do miss the whiskey, though!
