It's not really working! Kerry Katona tried to make her look more edgy by going for a half-shaved look as she left the hairdressers in London today

It's worked for Rihanna, Cassie, Mel B and model Alice Dellal.

So Kerry Katona was taking inspiration from some of the trendiest women out there when she opted for a half-shaved hairstyle today.

However, the look didn't really work for the 31-year-old star, who was clearly trying to make herself look more edgy with the 'do.

But Kerry looked thrilled with her new look as she left the salon in north London after a lengthy session in the hairdressing chair.

Going for a rock chick look to make the most of her hairstyle, Kerry donned a maxi skirt, printed T-shirt, leather jacket and bizarre necklace as she headed out in the capital.

During her session at the salon, Kerry had popped out for a cigarette mid-grooming, posing with fans as she stepped out.

Clearly unable to get through one haircut without a nicotine fix, Kerry puffed away on the cigarette, still wearing the protective cape she was given by the salon.

Perhaps Kerry's new look was inspired by the fact that she is now officially divorced from ex Mark Croft, with whom she has two children, Heidi, 4, and Max, 3.

She told Now magazine this week she was thrilled to be free from Croft, adding: 'Our marriage is officially over, thank God. It feels amazing.
'He makes me feel sick. I hate him with a passion. I really
hate him. He's just an ugly wretch. I don't know what I ever saw in him.'

Kerry is now said to be dating Stuart Nuttall, who she met after signing up to online dating website match.com.

Kerry had picked Stuart up at the Warrington station in her car for their night out last week, despite the website advising users to meet their prospective partners in a public place.

Stuart was then seen the next morning leaving Kerry's house following what appeared to be a very successful first date.
