'I've put on two stone!' Superfit Mark Wright confesses to binging on cake- but shares his New Year weight loss plan

By Holly Thomas

Coming clean: Mark Wright admitted on ITV's Daybreak this morning that he's put on twp stone since leaving the I'm A Celebrity jungle less than three weeks ago

I'm A Celebrity star Mark Wright drew many an admiring glance baring his washboard abs in the Australian jungle.

But sadly it appears the usually ripped 24-year-old has let himself go since.

He revealed all about his mission to get back in shape on ITV's Daybreak this morning, confessing that he's put on a whopping two stone in less than three weeks.

'I've just eaten so much,' he admitted.

'I just can't stop eating cakes, chocolate, crisps, and every Monday I say "right I'm going to stop now, and I just don't.'

He was quick to defend himself however, adding: 'I wouldn't say I'm porky, I'm just half a stone heavier than I was when I started. I lost a stone and a half in the jungle.'

And it's not just himself he's concerned about, as Mark will also be championing the nation's January bid to get healthy presenting new fitness show Downsize in Dubai.
'I'm really looking forward to it,' he enthused.

Can't stop munching: Mark was slimmer when he arrived back from Australia earlier this month (right) than he did arriving at the ITV studios this morning (left)

'I'm just going to be out there helping everyone through it and doing a bit of presenting as well.'

He spoke about his past efforts as a trainer, joking: 'I tried it with my friends but one of them doesn't listen- the one being Arg!'

'It's not going to be easy. It sound like a holiday when you say it's going to be in Dubai- and obviously it's a great place to train, it's better than the UK, but it's really not going to be a holiday.'

'At the end of the week they're all going to be loving the results and it's all going to be worth it.'

The star was also questioned about his late-night liason with ex Lauren Goodger on Sunday.

Proud of his body: Mark showcased his washboard abs on the cover of his 2012 calendar

The pair were spotted hopping into a cab back to his place after an amorous evening on the tiles.

Mark refused to be drawn however, brushing off the inquiry: 'The best thing about me and Lauren is that we're still good friends, and if we're out socialising it's up to the papers what they make of it, I'm not going to comment on that.'

'When I can I keep in touch with the TOWIE lot. I love them all'

It appears however that despite being a little out of shape, Mark's energy remains limitless, as he hit the Funky Buddha club last night looking in very high spirits

Mark, 24, looked suave in black jeans and a matching shirt- despite his apparent weigh gain.

He flashed his trademark grin as he posed outside the nightclub- not giving away any hint as to how his controversial reunion two days previously had played out.

Mark's former fiancée Lauren Goodger isn't likely to be too happy about the outing however.

According to the Daily Star, the exes were seen 'all over each other' after a 'boozy romp' at Essex nightclub Faces.

High spirits: Always-sociable Mark certainly looked in the mood for a fun night out

The twosome were said to be kissing and dancing as they drank Moët champagne and shots of tequila with their entourage.

After leaving the club at three o'clock, they were pictured sharing a cab home, before Mark threw his keys down to Lauren to let herself in.

'Mark kept grabbing Lauren’s bum and shouting over the music to her that he had never seen her look so beautiful,' a source said.

'None of his family seemed surprised that they were back together.'

Lauren told the paper: 'I’ve been staying over at Mark’s for the last week. I guess the cat’s out of the bag.'

Can't make his mind up? Mark appeared to be rekindling his romance with Lauren Goodger as she stayed over at his after a night out last weekend

Winning him back? Lauren had sworn that she'd have Mark back in her bed by Christmas

Miss Goodger sparked speculation on Sunday evening when she 'retweeted' a fan who posted a picture of the couple during a romantic holiday earlier this year with the caption 'My favourite couple, wish this was forever.'

Earlier this month, Lauren confidently predicted in an interview that she would have Mark 'back in her bed by Christmas.'

Mark had previously sworn that he was getting over Lauren however, so it appears that is still a work in progress.
