Goodbye from me: Patsy Kensit says her farewells to her Strictly castmates after becoming the latest star to get the boot from the dancing show
Actress Patsy Kensit has become the latest celebrity to be booted from the Strictly dance floor, following a tango that fell flat.
Her performance received a mixed review from the judging panel, with Bruno Tonioli complaining that it 'lacked spunk'.
And the viewing public seemed to agree. After all the votes were in, the Absolute Beginners star found herself in last place.
Kensit took her exit from the Strictly Come Dancing in good spirits.
'You know what, I've had the most incredible time,' she said, adding: 'Firstly I have to thank all those who voted because it's been nine weeks, which was incredible.
'It's been the most beautiful experience.'
Her departure means that the Ann Widdecombe survived yet again, despite another barrage of criticism from the judges.
She attempted to impress them with a Titanic themed rumba.
But after cutting a rug to Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On, her performance was panned.
Last dance: The actress received mixed reviews for her performance on Saturday night, but took the exit in good spirits saying she had had an 'incredible time' on the show
'The iceberg showed more passion,' was typical of the opprobrium heaped on the former parliamentarian.
The comment, by Widdecombe's tormentor-in-chief Craig Revel Horwood, was followed by a simple: 'It was awful.'
Fellow judges tended to agree. 'I'm like a James Bond Martini - I'm shaken, not stirred,' Len Goodman quipped.
It was left to Alesha Dixon to offer the only encouragement to the former MP for Maidstone and Weald. 'Kate Winslet eat your heart out,' the singer yelled as Widdecombe composed herself after the rumba.
Moment of truth: Patsy seen here with dance partner Robin Windsor and, right Gavin Henson who was also in the bottom two with his partner Katya Virshilas
She is not the only one at risk of elimination next week unless her performance picks up.
Rugby star Gavin Henson narrowly avoided the chop, coming second bottom to Patsy Kensit, when the judges scores and viewers votes were combined.
The Welsh centre failed to impress with his dance to Outkast's Hey Ya.
'I really think you are giving Ann Widdecombe a run for her money,' Revel Horwood said.
Not all of the dancing stars were subjected to criticism in yesterday's show.
Psychologist Pamela Stephenson topped the leaderboard.
Failing to impress: Patsy on Saturday night's Strictly performing with Robin
Her cheeky Charleston gained top marks from two judges and 'nines' from the others.
Goodman said of the performance: 'I have got to say that tickled my fancy. I enjoyed it, you enjoyed it, we all enjoyed it.'
Also singled out for praise was Kara Tointon. The soap star got the night's second highest marks after dancing an impressive jive.
Flamboyant judge Bruno Tonioli gushed: 'Kara von Tease, the sexy jiving pin-up. I love the fact that you put sex appeal into it.'
Goodman added: 'It was a top drawer jive. It steamed up my glasses.'
