Pulling out all the stops: Cher Lloyd and Katie Waissel dressed up to the nines for the X Factor wrap party at Studio Valbonne last night
They might have failed in their bid to win The X Factor, but Cher Lloyd and Katie Waissel have no intention of fading into the background like so many former contestants.
The pair pulled out all the stops for the show's wrap party at Studio Valbonne last night, dressing to the nines for the occasion.
While Cher went for a flirty look in a frilly dress with patterned tights and a lace top, Katie went in completely the other direction, showing off her figure in an incredibly tight black and red latex dress.
It seemed Katie, 24, had taken some tips from sexy singer Katy Perry, who is often seen in tight rubber outfits, as she headed out for the evening.
She wrote on her Twitter page earlier in the day: 'Ooo about to get ready to go the the x factor wrap party woop woop bring on the disco disco xx'
Despite being voted off the show in a double elimination the week before the show's semi-finals, Katie appears determined to make a career for herself in the music industry.
All smiles: Cher appeared to be in good spirits as she headed home, despite having apparently got into an argument with judge Louis Walsh at the event
Fun and flirty: Cher wore a fun, feminine floral dress with patterned tights
Cher is also hopeful of making a name for herself after coming in fourth on the show and causing a storm both in the UK and in America.
It has now been reported that Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am, who performed with Cher on the final on Saturday night, is keen to offer the 17-year-old a recording contract.
A source told The Sun: 'He vowed to help her grow and develop as a recording artist. Will also spoke to her family, promising them he'll try to make her a star.'
Winner: X Factor winner Matt Cardle gave the thumbs up outside Studio Valbonne
Dressed in blue: Rebecca Ferguson and The Xtra Factor Konnie Huq both went for midnight blue dresses for the party
However, Cher might run into some problems over her reported diva-like attitude.
She is said to have grown apart from the rest of the finalists over her behaviour, and was seen spending time alone in the canteen at the X Factor final on Sunday night.
But, despite the reports, it seems Cher had a good time at the party, tweeting later in the evening: 'I've had a brilliant day! Bed time now (: night all, xoxo.'

Also at the wrap party were X Factor winner Matt Cardle, who looked smart in a light grey suit and trainers, and runner-up Rebecca Ferguson, who opted for a stunning asymmetric blue dress and strappy heels for the occasion.
Despite falling at the last hurdle and coming in second, Rebecca said she is still feeling confident about her future.
And she also insisted her mentor Cheryl Cole was incredibly supportive, despite having both her and Cher in the finals.
Girls' night out: Belle Amie wore pretty sparkly outfits for the occasion
Familiar faces: Treyc Cohen and Mary Byrne went for monochrome looks
Rebecca, 24, said: 'I felt when Cher arrived there was a big buzz because she was amazing. Everyone got excited because she was young, she was different and she could rap.
'But Cheryl has been really supportive to me. Cher is a lot younger than me. I always felt I could go into Cheryl’s dressing room and have a good gab.
'She reminds me of a normal Liverpool girl. I like to think we’ll stay in touch.'
Feeling festive? X Factor creative direction Brian Friedman and former contestant John Adeleye wore sparkly suits for the wrap party
X Factor heartthrobs One Direction also attended the party, with Zayn Malik spending most of his evening with new girlfriend Geneva Lane.
Despite taking to Twitter yesterday to deny romance rumours after photographs emerged of the pair kissing, Zayn later confirmed the reports.
He tweeted: 'I love yu @genevalane', before adding: 'Listen fans i still love yuu all dont be jelous and hate on @genevalane were together whether yuu hate or not … (sic)'
