Where's Widdy? Ann Widdecombe inexplicably left out of the Strictly Come Dancing tour's 'babes in blue' photocall

By Georgina Littlejohn and Jody Thompson

Someone's missing: Ann Widdecombe was left out of the ladies' line-up: (L-R) Natalie Lowe, Ola Jordan, Kristina Rihanoff, Pamela Stephenson, Kara Tointon, Tina O'Brien, Patsy Kensit, Aliona Vilani

She's one of the most popular ever contestants on Strictly Come Dancing and will be the star turn on the show's forthcoming live tour - but poor Ann Widdecombe was left out when the ballroom beauties had their official tour photo taken today.

While the celebrities and professional dancers squeezed themselves into sequin-embellished blue lycra, former MP Ann was clomping around the streets of Nottingham in tracksuit bottoms, baggy old t-shirt and heavy black coat, seemingly with a set of directions in her hand.

Let's hope no-one sent her in the wrong way deliberately so she'd miss her chance to take her place in the 'babes in blue' line-up...

Left out: While her fellow Strictly tour co-stars were getting their close-ups, Ann appeared to holding directions in a bid to find the Nottingham Arena

The only pictures seen of the formerly Right Honorable Lady have been rehearsing with her former arch-enemy, judge Craig Revell-Horwood, but there's been nothing so far to suggest that she is going to feature in any ensemble dancers - rather, that she and Craig will be the 'comic turns'.

Fans will soon be able to find out the extent that Ann will feature in the live show however when the Strictly Come Dancing annual tour kicks off in the Midlands town tonight.

As well as stars from the last series - with winner Kara Tointon and Tina O'Brien leading the glamourpuss stakes - favourites from previous series are taking to the floor once more.

Comic turn? Ann and her dance partner Craig Revel Horwood appear to be the tour's light relief - with Ann not part of the 'babes in blue' line-up of more serious dancers

Kara and Tina, both 27, had their picture taken with their partners - Artem Chigvintsev and Jared Murillo respectively.

Both gave each other a run for their money in the glamour stakes with former EastEnders star Kara, 27, looking elegant in her long asymmetrical blue dress.

Former Coronation Street star Tina showed off her curves in a sexy short number which left little to the imagination but made sure the camera lens was firmly on her.

The girls have been joined on the tour by other contestants from the last series including Kara's fellow finalist comedienne-turned-psychologist Pamela Stephenson, who once again joins forces with James Jordan.

And making up the female group - apart from the professional dancers - is Patsy Kensit, who teams up again with Robin Windsor.

The boys: (L-R) Robin Windsor, Matt Baker, Ricky Whittle, Colin Jackson, James Jordan, Jared Murillo, Artem Chigvintsev, Jimi Mistry

Leading the boys is Matt Baker, who was also a semi-finalist on the last series, and comes to the tour with his partner Aliona Vilani

Also dancing for the men is actor Jimi Mistry who teams up with Kristina Rihanoff as his partner from the show, Flavia Cacace is unable to join the tour.

Former Hollyoaks star Ricky Whittle also joins the tour to dance with Natalie Lowe as a replacement for EastEnders star Scott Maslen, who is unable to join the tour due to filming commitments for the soap.

Ricky has had plenty of practice though having come second on Strictly Come Dancing in 2009 with Australian Natalie, losing to BBC sports presenter Chris Hollins.

Athlete Colin Jackson also joins the line-up having come second with his dance partner Erin Boag, losing out to cricketer Darren Gough but winning the following year's Christmas special of the show.

The tour runs through to February 13, ending in Glasgow, with shows at Wembley and the O2 Arena in London next weekend.

The sensual and the silly: Ricky and Natalie get serious as they show off their moves, while lovebirds Kara and Artem lark about
