Seductive: Holly Valance and her partner Artem Chigvintsev performing the Tango

As the Strictly competition heats up all contestants went the extra mile to try and secure their place in the final.

But for Holly Valance it was a dress, as well as a dance, of passion, which gave her an extra edge.

The actress performed a Argentine Tango with partner Artem Chigvintsev wearing a slashed to the thigh red dress which earned high praise from the judges.

Bruno Tonioli told Holly she was 'beautiful, bad and dangerous' after her first dance with other judges praising the pair's ability tell the passionate story behind the dance.

Although Holly didn't earn top marks for her dance the former Neighbours star said she loved performing in the Latin style.

And with five couples being whittled down to three this week it was sequins at dawn as every celebrity was out to outdo the others, and that was just their outfits.

Next it was Alex Jones and James Jordan who, despite a slight wardrobe malfunction with uneven fake tan won the judges praise with her version of a Waltz to 'You Make Me Feel Like a Natural Woman' by Aretha Franklin, scooping her a 36.

The judges told her she was credit to the competition with Alesha telling her she 'definitely deserved a place in the semi final.'

And for her second dance the presenter impressed with a saucy salsa dance which included a mini strip tease.

Bruno said: 'It was lovely to see you dance. You respond to a man very well. When you are on your own you get lost in the moment. If you make it to Blackpool you have to feel sure of yourself because you have got it.'
